GEOFFREY GIULIANO. "BLACKBIRD. THE LIFE AND TIMES OF PAUL MCCARTNEY"

A NOTE ON SOURCES

Throughout the long process of researching and then writing this book I have been fortunate in enlisting the participation of many of the people closest to Paul McCartney over the last forty-odd years. Among them several asked not to be identified by name for reasons best known to themselves, a request which I have honored without exception. For the most part, however, there was no such intrepidation and 1 therefore acknowledge their kindness in having confided in me their memories of not only Paul and Linda McCartney, but also the Beatles and Wings and the marvel-ously heady, bygone days that spawned them.

In Liverpool: Julia Baird, Mona Best, Norman Birch, Paddy Delaney, Clive Epstein, Joe Flannery, Leila Harvey, Sam Leach, Charlie Lennon, Gerry Marsden, Mike McCartney, Rowena McCartney, "Father" Tom McKenzie, Eddie Porter, Allan Williams, Bob Wooler, Georgie Wood.

In London: Dahanjaya Dasa, Su Gold, Helen Grant, Mary Hopkin, Denny Laine, Herbo Laine, Hayley Mills, Chrissie Hynde, Peter O'Donaghue, Earl Okin, "Legs" Larry Smith, Krissy Wood.

In North America: Pete Bennett, Peter Brown, Donovan, Horst Fasher, Richie Havens, Heidi Jo Hines, Laine Hines, Jennifer Holly, Steve Holly, Laurence Juber, Jo Jo Laine, Julian Lennon, Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono, Charles F. Rosenay!!!, Alistair Taylor, Derek Taylor.

And also Paul McCartney, himself responding to an extensive list of my questions at MPL in London, 1986.
