SUE’S LETTER

This end-of-year holiday issue is something of a landmark in the history of Club Sandwich. Although Paul frequently contributes directly to the content of the magazine, this time he is breaking new ground by directing himself exclusively to questions submitted by you, our readers, in THE CLUB SANDWICH PAUL McCARTNEY INTERVIEW. Even for people who feel they are knowledgeable about Paul's musical history, it has a number of revealing insights and makes absolutely fascinating reading, as I'm sure you'll agree.
It was, as promised, a random draw, but to maximise the chance of featuring the broadest range of questions, we did take the precaution of grouping together similar or identical questions beforehand. So should you be one of the lucky ones whose question was put to Paul, you may find that it was also tabled on someone else's behalf. Also, I understand from Mark Lewisohn that there were quite a few questions drawn from "the hat", which, owing to lack of time, were left unasked. However, we hope to feature these in a future issue. Please don't send in any more, though: we've got enough!
Other fillings in this very special Sandwich include, in the customary Geoff Baker style, a progress report on LIPA - see "A BA (HONS) IN JOHN HAMMEL, PLEASE". Also, we introduce a seasonal note in AND IN THE GREEN CORNER, where Linda McCartney suggests a cruelty-free Christmas dinner and provides the relevant recipes. And, as one year flows into another, we preview THE LITTLE CALENDAR THAT FOCUSES ON A BIG ISSUE -Linda's 1995 calendar, produced in aid of the War Child charity. Club members will find details for ordering a copy of this on the Club Offer sheet. Thus, we wrap up this issue along with another year, which only leaves me to pass along SEASONS GREETINGS from Paul, Linda and all of us here at the Sandwich.

'til next time
Sue
